Job Description

I am immediately looking for 4x Electronics design engineers to work for a client of mine. The role is for an initial 6 months with the potential to extend beyond this with work due to continue across the whole of 2024.Job Type: ContractDuration: 6 months (initial)Rate: £70-90 p/hLocation; CambridgeIR35: OutsideThe main responsibilities will include:

  • Requirements analysis and understanding including liaison with stakeholders
  • Technical design and specification for a range of radio and accessory products, including:
    • Ownership of the complete subsystem design and implementation.
    • Integration between electronic subsystems
    • Component specification and sourcing.
    • Detailed route cause analysis of test failures.
    • Design, integration and test documentation.
  • Collaborating across disciplines to resolve design and integration issues
  • Supporting type approval activities
  • Progress reporting to project team and line manager.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in relevant discipline or equivalent experience
Experience and Skills
  • In-depth experience of analogue circuit design, including audio amplifiers, power supplies, protection circuits and low-noise design
  • Experience of selecting microprocessor and memory devices, and understanding of the wider implications on hardware and software
  • Familiarity with digital interfaces, including I2C, UART and USB
  • Low-power circuit design for battery powered products
  • Design for EMC/ESD protection
  • Design for Manufacturing and Test
  • Experience of a product development environment
Nice to have:
  • Experience of simulating designs in LTSpice and Hyperlynx
  • Experience with MIPI interfaces and camera integration
  • Knowledge of intrinsic safety and ATEX
  • Experience of designing battery packs
  • Experience of modelling and optimising product battery life
