Job Description

Electrical Design EngineerCambridge £40,000-£50,000 Alecto Recruitment is proud to be recruiting on behalf of an excellent Independent Connections provider based in Cambridge.Role and Responsibilities

  • Successful candidates will be experienced in electrical substation design working with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), Independent DNOs (IDNOs), and Independent Connections Providers (ICPs) in voltages from LV up to 132kV.
  • Looking for someone with a good understanding of Grid and Primary substations, G81 design standards and an engineering background.
    • Main duties will include:
  • Upon receiving tenders, liaise with customers to clarify requirements
  • Carry out technical analysis of enquiries and advise on mitigating risks
  • Full understanding of DNO and IDNO technical specifications and standards
  • Plant specification and enquiries to suppliers / receiving / reviewing technical submissions
  • Produce Single Line Diagrams, substation layouts:
    • GAs, cable network, protection panels layouts, wiring diagrams, and earthing design from tender to as-builts
  • Managingapproval process
  • Working closely with project engineers and formulate a technical response
  • Carrying out technical handovers to engineering colleagues
  • Assist with estimating cost of plant
  • Assist with producing quotation documents and other supporting materials (GA, schedules, prequalification questionnaires) as required
