Job Description

Ambulance Cleaner - CambridgeYour role will involve moving and cleaning ambulances for operational duty cleaning to agreed Infection Prevention and Control quality standard.Duties:

  • To deliver and collect ambulances between Trust sites.
  • Decontaminate and re-stock equipment.
  • Undertake vehicle checks.
  • Report any defects.
  • Undertake extended road tests of vehicles.
  • Other responsibilities will require you to move ambulances around the site for refuelling, cleaning, parking, vehicle testing and maintenance.
  • You will be liaising with vehicle technicians with regards to vehicle maintenance requirements and will be required to communicate accurately and effectively within the team.
  • Along with developing a full understanding of how vitally important this role is. Your duties will include driving and cleaning vehicles (to IPC standards) using systemic processes and specialist equipment and chemicals within an emergency vehicle. Theseactivities are both essential and critical - making you a vital part and a critical link between the technicians and paramedics and the excellent patient care we deliver.
Skills and Experience:
  • There is a requirement to work weekends and be flexible in line with service needs. Good communication skills and a basic understanding of IT is essential along with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • As your role will involve moving ambulances and vehicles holding a UK driving licence with a C1 category is mandatory.
  • The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a high attention to detail, working to a high standard, be able to follow step by step instructions and be able to work as part of a team.
