Job Description

Teaching Personnel are working with a secondary school in Monmouthshire to appoint a Ukrainian and English-speaking Teaching Assistant to support pupils who have fled Ukraine and are now living in the Monmouthshire area. The pupils who have joined this secondaryschool speak very limited English, so we are looking for a Teaching Assistant to translate when needed. There will already be support in place to help with their transition to the UK however, there may be time where you will need to offer social and emotionalsupport due their unfortunate situation.Teaching Assistant:

  • Fluent English speaker
  • Fluent Ukrainian speaker
  • Other East Slavic languages acceptable
  • Previous school experience desirable but not essential
Teaching Assistant Role:
  • Supporting Ukrainian pupils
  • Helping with translation when needed
  • Offer social and emotional support
  • Assist with pupils well being
