Reed Financial Services are pleased to be representing a longstanding and established Mutual Building Society in South Wales who seek Compliance professionals for a live vacancy for a Risk & Compliance Oversight Manager (FTC10-12months)IN RETURNA salary of up to 55k plus unrivalled benefits which include agile /hybrid working , 28 days + Bank hols, Private Health plan, 10% Pension contribution, Health and well being plus many more.ROLE PURPOSE Responsible for development and execution of the Risk and Compliance Oversight plan, ensuring risk-based coverage of material risk areas for the Society. Creates and Implements policies, procedures and directives that drive the overall vision and approach of the Risk and Compliance oversight team. Leads, develops and motivates direct reports, ensuring that they receive the necessary feedback and guidance to improve productivity, quality and overall insight of risk opinion.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Responsible for development and execution of the Risk and Compliance Oversight plan, ensuring risk-based coverage of material risk areas for the Society. Support the Risk and Compliance team in promotion and embedding of the ERMF and its components, and promoting a strong conduct and compliant cultureSKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIREDTechnical Expertise: Strong financial services industry awareness Strong regulatory knowledge Experience within a 2nd line risk oversight or internal audit role and methodology Proficient in all MS packagesCompetencies: 3-5 years management experience within the financial service industry Strong leadership and influencing skills, with demonstrable capabilities to influence up to and including Executive level Strong analytical skills, including ability to identify the root cause of risks and issues and understand possible strategic implications Ability to draw upon commercial acumen and strategic/solutions based thinking Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to present up to and including Board level Ability to work in an agile manner, ensuring delivery of key priorities Excellent attention to detail but able to quickly grasp the big picture Resilient and able to hold personal independence and opinion High degree of discretion and confidentiality in dealing with sensitive information
