Company brief:The company is more than 40 years old and one of the largest multinational colourant manufacturers with sales offices, warehouse and manufacturing facilities worldwide.To succeed in this role you will require:- A background in Chemistry BSc (or equivalent)with Chemistry or A level with Chemistry Colour Chemistry, Paint Technology, Ink Technology, Polymer Science.- Experience & Knowledge of instrumentation techniques such as UV Vis Spectrophotometer, pH meter, Chromatography X-Rite - Spectrophotometers (Colour Eye), Colour matching experience in colour industry preferable not essential.- Knowledge or experience on working with injection moulder, roll mill, bead mill, basket mill, rollmill and such milling equipment used in plastic masterbatch, Paint & Ink industries is desirable but not essential- Good knowledge & experience of analytical chemistry techniques like pH, viscosity, detection of water insoluble matter, loss on drying, melting point will be an advantage.Job Responsibilities:- Carrying out established test procedures for quality control of products to a high degree of accuracy and repeatability- Compiling reports of test results and updating records on system- Thoroughly cleaning down equipment and work area after testing- Keep work area in a clean and orderly condition- Ensure all products are properly labelled and stored- Ensure In-Process Sheets and Logbooks are maintained- Perform calibration on equipment, such as scales and spectrophotometer, according to the relevant procedure and at required frequencies- Maintaining laboratory supply of consumable items and re-stocking as needed (required to lift bulky items or up to 25Kg bags)- Periodic archiving of older documentation- Must be able to work with high level of safety standard and keep the work area tidy and safe- Training will be provided on site
