Job Description

This role will include the responsibilities of completing weekly and monthly payroll, supporting the Payroll Officer and contributing to budgets and forecasting.Client DetailsThis client is a parent company and provides central services to four of the UKs leading Independent Foster Care Agencies.Description

  • Manage and coordinate the end-to-end payroll processes for all group companies ensuring compliance with the policies and standard operating procedures
  • Process payroll amendments for new starters, leavers, contractual changes, tax code changes and 3rd party deductions
  • Process monthly payments to HMRC, pension providers and other external bodies
  • Liaise with the Group HR department regarding internal payrolls
  • Review and develop payroll policies and procedures
  • Action internal expense claims and unpaid leave for colleagues ensuring this is accounted for in payroll
  • Manage the transfer of employees to group payroll processes following acquisition of new companies or offices, including managing legacy processes prior to switch over.
  • Manage the payroll processes of staff benefits, leavers, statutory payments (SMP & SPP), unpaid leave and sick pay entitlements, ensuring the reporting deadlines are met
  • Process P45s and annual P60s and P11Ds
  • Develop and streamline the process for recording hourly, weekly and sessional work patterns and paying accurately
  • Effectively manage the auto-enrolment process, pension payments and reconcile the company pension deductions
  • Contribute to budgets and forecasts re. NIC rates, NMW/NLW, etc.
  • Support all internal and external audits related to payroll
  • Produce monthly staff cost reports by employee for comparison against budgets
Profile
  • Demonstrable experience of working within a busy internal payroll position within a large, fast-paced business
  • In depth knowledge of payroll legislation, processes and statutory requirements
  • Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals qualification or qualified by experience
  • Proven experience and knowledge of BACS payments
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of iTrent or similar Payroll software desirable
  • Excellent organisational skills and able to work well under pressure
  • Excellent IT skills, the need to record, manipulate and provide reports for daily analysis is essential
