Job Description

Position: 1-1 Teaching Assistant in a Year 3 classLocation: CaerphillyPay rate: Starting at £76 per day (dependent on experience/qualifications)Start date: 08/01/2024About us: Academics are excited to be recruiting for a rewarding role for a 1-1 Teaching Assistant role in an inclusive, tight knit Primary School located in the heart of Caerphilly. As an agency, we specialise in finding Education Staff their dream roleswithin schools throughout South Wales.As a 1-1 Teaching Assistant (TA), your responsibilities will include:

  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies and maintain a supportive atmosphere to all students within the class.
  • Collaborate with the school staff, including the teacher, ALNco and other staff to implement tailored support to the children within the Year 3 class.
  • To foster a positive and inclusive environment, nurturing the pupils social and emotional development as well as supporting their educational attainment.
  • Adapt and deliver learning materials set by the class teacher to accommodate the pupils specific individual needs.
  • Ensure timely communication with parents & guardians, offering insights into the pupils progress.
Essential Criteria:
  • To hold an Enhanced DBS check or be willing to obtain one.
  • To be registered (or willing to) with the Education Workforce Council.
  • To have previous experience working with children.
  • To be available Monday - Friday for this full-time role.
Desirable Criteria:
  • To hold a Level 2 or 4 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Proven experience of supporting a child on a 1-1 basis as a Teaching Assistant, preferably in a primary school setting.
  • Experience implementing IEPs and familiarity with diverse learning needs.
