Job Description

THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT FOR 31 MARCH 2021 DUE TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE SERVICEIF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN APPLYING FOR THE SECONDMENT POSITION, YOU MUST OBTAIN PERMISSION FROM YOUR CURRENT LINE MANAGER PRIOR TO APPLYING FOR THIS POST.PREVIOUS APPLICANTS NEED NOT APPLYContact tracing is a tried and tested method of controlling the spread of infectious diseases.As lockdown restrictions are gradually relaxed Welsh Government has introduced Test, Trace, Protect. Implemented by Public Health Wales in partnership with Health Boards and local Councils across Wales, its aim is to limit the spread of infection, trace the virus and protect our communities.It works by:

  • testing people who have symptoms, while they, and their households, self-isolate;
  • tracing people who have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive, and asking them to self-isolate;
  • protecting the community by reducing the onward spread of COVID-19, especially to the most vulnerable;
  • allowing people (and their households) who test negative and whose symptoms are not due to coronavirus to return to their usual routines.
    • What is the Gwent Test, Trace and Protect ServiceAll five Local Authorities in Gwent and Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB) are working together to deliver a contact tracing service across Gwent.The post holder(s) will be responsible for leading on the production, development and promotion of data analytical and mathematical modelling services for the Gwent TTP Service including the development of tools to support data acquisition and management for modelling and other purposes, for example, performance management.The post holder(s) will be involved in demand and capacity modelling work as appropriate and deliver operational and strategic information requirements as necessary ensuring that they are timely and accurate, supporting the Gwent TTP Programme Lead with the reporting, review and development of the service.As part of our commitment to developing a bilingual workforce, applications are welcomed from candidates who can demonstrate their ability to work in both English and Welsh as well as those with additional language skills.The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.Closing date: 2nd September 2020For further details / informal visits contact:Daniel Westwood, orTracey Deacon,
