Adferiad is a 22 bedded mixed gender adult mental health acute unit based in St Cadocs Hospital in Caerleon. The unit cares for people with acute mental health issues who reside within the Newport and Lower Monmouthshire area. The service user group is primarily of adult working age however is flexible in its approach basing its service provision on meeting the individual needs of the service user.The Unit works closely with 3 Community Mental health Teams along with their respective Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team. There is also collaborative working with other inpatient units within the Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Division as well as their crisis resolution home treatment teams via the out of hours assessment service and when service user needs dictate.The Deputy Ward Manager is a senior member of the team. The candidate will be responsible for the coordination of inpatient service users and also have a managerial role in supporting the team. The Deputy Ward Manager will take responsibility within their caseload for ensuring the assessment of health and social needs, formulation, planning, delivery and evaluation of care. They will work collaboratively across a wide ranging multi-disciplinary services and agencies to provide effective delivery of health and social care and supporting a programme of recovery.We are looking for an individual who is passionate about patient care and driven to working in collaboration with families and other services to provide a truly individual, holistic and a person centred approach to nursing.
