Job Description

Shift Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias / Multi Discipline)Burton-on-Trentto c£35k + overtime + benefitsOur Burton-on-Trent based client demonstrates a successful heritage of more than a century allied to the roofing sector for both commercial and domestic projects, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit a number of mechanically biased, multi skilled shift maintenance engineer professionals to complement their established and professional team.Working on an average 48 hour week on a 3 week around rotating 12 hour shift pattern (6am to 6pm / 6pm to 6am) and working 12 days in every 21 day period and 1 weekend in every 3, successful candidates will demonstrate previous experience in undertaking both PPM and reactive maintenance and repair activities on a range of heavy plant and equipment, ideally gained within (for example) a quarrying, agricultural machinery, power station or waste management environments and having carried out mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance on various items of special purpose production machinery within a busy manufacturing environment.Other duties will include (but not be limited to) providing leadership in maintaining plant production capacity and identifying and implementing continuous improvement activities in order to increase plant reliability as well as the availability of equipment, thus maximising production efficiency, improving safety and minimising machinery downtime. You will also be responsible for contributing to the delivery of production targets and HSE KPIs and providing operator and maintenance training to maximise multi-skilling throughout the team.To be considered for these varied and challenging maintenance engineer roles, it is envisaged that the successful candidates will be L3 qualified and apprentice-trained (although relevant experience will also be favourably considered) with a mechanical bias, and will demonstrate excellent communication skills at all levels as well as the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
