- Commissioning and Packaging Engineer - Burton - 9 months’ - £40,000-£45,000- Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week - Start Date: ASAPAn exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation. Our client, a blue chip FMCG company, is currently seeking a Commissioning and Packaging EngineerJob Description The implementation of engineering projects within Burton, including design, installation and commissioning of plant and equipment.• Safety - Prepare and install engineering designs, in accordance with relevant local legislation, procedures and site regulations, to ensure inherently safe plant and equipment, proper environmental protection and safety of personnel. Use relevant Risk assessment method and EMOC/SIMAS. Create and maintain project files and documentation, in line with CDM regulation.• Quality - Co-ordination of plant trials and commissioning.• Customer Service - Deliver project contract in terms of budgets, timings and ramp up. Agree critical success factors within all levels of factory customers. Set and agree, with the relevant people, the realistic targets to ensure innovation/projects are delivered effectively and efficiently. Review project and technical implementation and documentation with customer and supplier.• Cost - Manage all capital projects within budget. Carry out budgetary control of a project or sub-project. Management of contractors as necessary to carry out the design and implementation of the project. Provide cost effective solutions for implementation of projects• Design Engineering and Technical Support - The preparation of equipment schedules, cost schedules and project documentation. Provide technical assistance to the Manufacturing Operation and Category Engineers as required. The installation, testing and commissioning of plant equipment related to the project. Conduct technical surveys and investigations, as necessary, to enable feasibility studies to be carried out. Prepare outline designs and schemes for feasibility studies and project assessment. Ensuring AM and PM schedules and standards are communicated and implemented with site operational team.• WCM – Follow EEM methodologyThe Project Engineer will take responsibility to engineer and manage Packaging parts of the Project including Design, Implementation and Commissioning of:- Filler and EOL equipment- Bottle Blower - Utilities (Air, Elec. Etc.)- Palletizer and finish good pallet system- Auto loading system• Manage the engineering design, specification, procurement, installation and handover to commissioning of capital projects in alignment with Engineering and WCM procedures. • Tender to multiple suppliers to develop, analyses and select the most appropriate engineering solutions in terms of safety, quality and cost. • Responsible for delivering and driving Early Equipment Management for the relevant project sections • Production of technical documentation in alignment with UE procedures for handover to the Commissioning Team. • Ensure that the management of projects uses the UE procedures • Based on project briefs establish project scope identifying potential solutions and capital estimates • Work with procurement to ensure cost and contractual arrangements are in place with suppliers • Ensure equipment is specified correctly and approve specifications, using core design where possible • Control budget and ensure proper financial accounting • Deliver project to agreed timescales, cost, safety and quality target• Qualified to degree standard in engineering discipline or equivalent in experience• Experience in hygienic design• A solid understanding of automation and control principles• A strong grasp of food technology• Maintenance experience• IT and numeracy skills• Fully operational in project management
