Job Description

A Tooling Engineer is required for a long term contract c18 months for a large manufacturing business near Burnley. The role is ideally to start as soon as possible however short notice will be considered. This is a days based role created due to growthso there is potentially an opportunity for a permanent role for the right candidate.Client DetailsThe organisation is in the Forbes Top 5 employers in their industry and is a large multi-National manufacturing business with a strong vision to make their industry safer and more sustainable. The facility in Burnley predominantly manufactures composites.DescriptionAs the Tooling Engineer your duties will include:

  • working with the manufacturing engineers to define the tooling requirements across site
  • working through the design, manufacture, planning and delivery of all required tooling
  • writing RFQ documents
  • meeting with suppliers throughout and completing pre-acceptance checks
  • receiving quotes and raising purchase requisitions
  • planning and monitoring the progress of the tooling by holding regular meetings with stakeholders to report back to the wider project teams
  • carrying out design reviews at PDR, CDR and FDR stages before launching tooling into manufacture.
ProfileThe successful Tooling Engineer will have:
  • previously worked in a similar tooling position - ESSENTIAL
  • working knowledge of CATIA software - ESSENTIAL
  • strong written and verbal communication skills - ESSENTIAL
  • worked in the aerospace or related industry - HIGHLY DESIRABLE
Job OfferThis is an 18 month contract position based in Burnley to start as soon as possible. The working hours are Mon-Thurs 8am - 4.30pm and 8am - 1pm on Friday.Extensions and/or permanent opportunities may be available for the successful candidate.
