DC351Closed Site SupervisorLocationBubbenhall, CoventrySalary£Competitive + BenefitsOverview:First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with our client to recruit a Closed Site Supervisor to join their team based in Bubbenhall, Coventry. This is an excellent opportunity for a waste industry professional with supervisory experience and a workingunderstanding of environmental issues to become a key member within a growing, environmentally-focused organisation.You will have the chance to oversee and manage a number of closed landfill sites, making Health and Safety a priority and helping our client to achieve their environmental commitment, ensuring that what they do is environmentally and socially responsible.Duties and Responsibilities:

Working closely with the Site Business Manager, you will be responsible for the overall supervision of operations and projects taking place at closed landfill sites at Pennyhill, Radbrook, Judkins, Edwin Richards Quarry (ERQ), and Bubbenhall.
Ensure that the restoration and engineering stream inputs are handled safely and are compliant with company and operational procedures, Environment Agency Permitted conditions, and current legislation.
Ensure that Health and Safety is adhered to on all sites.
Foster good working relationships with regulatory bodies and local interested parties.
Ensure all projects are completed in a timely fashion, to budget and run smoothly and compliantly.
Work with the Engineering Department to manage engineering activities.
Oversee the management of leachate.
Manage contractors and other site resources.
Cover the weighbridge when necessary.

Skills and Experience:

Hands-on operational experience in a supervisory position within the waste industry.
A working understanding of environmental issues including gas control, leachate, surface water and permits.
Good literacy skills.
Good IT skills.
A COTC qualification, or equivalent, in all areas of responsibility is essential or the willingness to gain one within the first 12 months of being in post.
A full, valid driving licence.
