Job Description

English Teacher

Reed Education is on the lookout for passionate and experienced English Teachers to join various schools across the Lewisham, Lambeth, and Southwark boroughs. We offer a gateway to permanent positions in some of the most supportive and thriving educationalenvironments in South London. Day to Day of the Role:
  • Delivering engaging English lessons to GCSE or A-Level students, following the UK curriculum.
  • Preparing lesson plans, marking, and providing constructive feedback to students.
  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively to create a positive learning environment.
  • Assessing and recording students’ progress and preparing them for examinations.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to share best practices and participate in school events.
  • Contributing to the development of curriculum and teaching materials.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
  • Proven experience teaching the UK curriculum to GCSE or A-Level students.
  • Availability to work a minimum of three days per week.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Positive observation ratings, ideally graded as ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’.
  • Willingness to undergo compliance checks, including Enhanced DBS and employment referencing.
