Job Description

Test Substance ControllerDevonCompetitive salaryPermanentWe are working with an exciting applications lab based in Devon who deliver a range of analytical and toxicological services to the pharmaceutical, agrochemical and chemical industries.They are looking for a Test Substance Controller to join their Analytical Chemistry Team at their site in Devon.What youll do:As a Test Substance Controller, you will be responsible for the research sample lifecycle from dispatch through to disposal, or the return of material to the client. This will include:

  • Following SOPs and maintain up-to-date records
  • Committing to training opportunities including as Radiation Protection Supervisor and Biological Safety Officer.
  • Conducting the identification, data capture and resolution of discrepancies during sample receipt and highlighting this to any responsible client and study personnel
  • Conducting all work in compliance with regulatory requirements and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) or master service agreements.
  • Coordinating with operational teams with dispensing and management of test items.
  • Managing and planning individual workload in collaboration with the team to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Maintaining chemical inventories and interacting with suppliers as required.
Your background:You will hold a GCSE or A-Level in a scientific discipline, or have equivalent experience in industry, a positive, can-do attitude and some experience of working in a laboratory environment. Knowledge or experience of working to GLP standards is importantin this role.Experience interpreting safety data sheets (SDS), laboratory sample receipt or general administration experience is beneficial to this role.On this occasion LiCa Scientific is acting as an Employment Agency.
