Please ensure you have the right to live and work in the UK before applying.Job title: Kitchen AssistantLocation: Douglas House, Douglas Avenue Brixham Devon TQ5 9ERate Of Pay: £10.42 per hourShift Patterns: 25 hours Per Week, Part Time, PermanentInformation about the Role:Working as a Kitchen Assistant at John Masefield House your duties will include the following:· Properly cleaning and sanitizing all food preparation areas according to established standards of hygiene.· Washing and appropriately storing all cooking appliances, instruments, utensils, cutting boards, and dishes.· Assisting the Cook/Chef with the preparation of meal ingredients, which includes washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting, and chopping food.· Sweeping and mopping the kitchen floors as well as wiping down kitchen walls.· Assisting with the unloading of delivered food supplies.· Organizing and correctly storing food supplies.· Promptly transferring meal ingredients from storage areas to the kitchen as per the Cook/Chef’s instructions.· Stirring and heating soups and sauces as well as preparing hot beveragesInformation about the Service:We specialise in supporting people who have varying needs as a result of physical & long term neurological conditions including cancer care, cerebral palsy, down syndrome, epilepsy, brain injury, Huntington’s disease, motor neurone disease, multiple sclerosis,muscular dystrophy, Parkinson’s disease, spina bifida & hydrocephalus and stroke.
