Job Description

Working in a high-spec facility, our client provides high quality aquatic (marine and freshwater) ecotoxicology, environmental fate and analytical chemistry services to the global pharmaceutical, agrochemical and chemical industries. Our goal is to help our clients understand the lifecycle of chemicals in our environment and the impact this has on the ecosystem. We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer with the following experience...Responsibilities

  • Providing expertise on maintenance matters, giving advice and support on all aspects of electrical and mechanical services, site equipment and building infrastructure.
  • Delivering planned maintenance either hands-on or by management of contractors to ensure a reliable and cost-effective facility.
  • Working with laboratory-based teams to deliver efficient, reliable, customer focused, maintenance services. Demonstrating understanding of the specific regulatory requirements of the business.
  • Supporting change projects to maximise the effectiveness of our facility.
  • Prioritisation of capital budgets based on business risk.
  • Identifying and assessing the risk to the health and safety of themselves, staff, and visitors.
  • Demonstrating a flexible approach to working hours where needed, to accommodate resolution of issues.
  • Requirements:
  • Qualification or equivalent knowledge and experience in mechanical engineering (i.e. ONC/HNC/HND).
  • Knowledge of water systems, treatment & chemistry.
  • Qualification and/or experience in Safety and Health (e.g. IOSH).
  • Decision making skills, even in positions of ambiguity.
  • Confident user of IT systems including facility management software and Microsoft packages.
