Job Description

QA EngineerLocation: Bristol with some National travelSalary: £35,000- £40,000Reporting to: QA ManagerPurpose of the Job

  • Quality Assurance and Testing across the our Application Suite specifically the CDP product: Unify (analytical, statistical, modelling, campaigning, email and reporting).
  • Quality Assurance and Testing for ancillary software and integrations with technology partners – including email service providers, SMS and API integrations.
  • Travel to other UK sites may be necessary
    • Main Duties -QA Engineer:General
  • Test new software functionality, recording detail of testing performed.
  • Identify areas for automation, or tools that enhance coverage or save time.
  • Contribute to the software Knowledge Base.
    • Defect Management
  • Log defects ensuring sufficient information for reproduction.
  • Retest defects providing detail on testing completed.
  • Take ownership of issues, and be proactive in assisting in their resolution.
  • Troubleshoot problems and provide workarounds to software issues.
    • Continuous Improvement
  • Make recommendations on where the software can be improved.
  • Make recommendations on how team processes can be improved.
    • Skills and Experience: Essential
  • Website/Web App Testing.
  • Defect Tracking Tools (e.g. JIRA, Bugzilla).
  • Database Technology (e.g. SQL, MongoDB).
  • ISTQB Certification.
    • Desirable
  • Virtualisation (e.g. VMWare, Hyper-V)
  • Agile Methodology (Experience or Certification).
  • Performance Testing.
  • Security Testing.
