Bristol Port Company are looking for experienced Car Trade Operatives to join their team.Job Title: Car Trade OperativesSalary: £23,666 per annum (increasing to £24,912 after 2 years) plus overtime and benefitsLocation: BristolJob Type: Full Time, PermanentThe Bristol Port Company is now the UK?s premier car handling port with a current throughput of 650,000 vehicles per annum. They have achieved this position against very keen competition from other ports by concentrating on the quality of their service, delivered through a committed workforce. They intend to build on this success by strengthening their team of permanent operatives, whose principal focus is the car trade, though other duties are undertaken when requirements arise.Car Trade Operatives ? You:- You will specialise in driving import and export vehicles for the motor vehicle trade- You will be of smart appearance, enthusiastic and physically fit- You will be able to demonstrate a highly developed awareness of customers? quality requirements- You must be able to project a positive, helpful approach with which customers will feel comfortable.- You will be required to work overtime and must be able to commit to a fully flexible shift system which operates over 7 days per week- You will have a full clean driving licence and at least 2 years? driving experience.Car Trade Operatives ? Duties:Principal duties will include driving motor vehicles on and off of vessels and between compounds, lashing and unlashing vehicles, marshalling drivers, and monitoring quality standards. There will also be opportunities to work on other trades.Car Trade Operatives ? Hours:The basic working week will commence at 0700 hrs on a day to be advised, which can be any day of the week (including weekends) and may be varied from time to time in order to meet changing requirements.Currently the working week usually commences on a Saturday. Shifts may be ordered, in any combination, over 7 days, at the Company?s option; thus rest days may fall on any day of the week. There will be no differentiation between weekdays, weekends and Bank Holidays. Overtime at time plus one quarter will be payable for hours worked beyond 39 in any week.Car Trade Operatives ? Benefits Package:- Basic Starting Salary: £23,666 per annum, rising to £24,912 per annum after two years, subject to satisfactory performance. - Holidays: 25 days per annum, plus up to 8 additional days where Bank Holidays have been worked as part of the basic week- Profit related pay: A scheme currently operates which rewards all employees with a share of Company profits- Company Pension Scheme: Group Personal Pension Plan- Subsidised Canteens: The Company currently subsidises dock based catering arrangements through a catering subsidy voucher scheme.To apply for this position, press ?Apply? today!
