POSITION: Veneer Preparer/ Wood MachinistSALARY: To be negotiated dependant on experience£6.45 - £8.00 for 18-21-year olds £8.20 - £9.50 for 21- 24-year olds £8.72 - £10.50 for over 25’sBENEFITS: Company Pension, 28 days holiday entitlement per annumHOURS: Full-timeLOCATION: Brightlingsea, Essex, CO7 0SFDESCRIPTION:Our client is an industry leading manufacturer of bespoke cabinetry. The company supply a full design-development and manufacture service to some of the country’s leading Interior designers, Furniture designers and Architects along with supplying direct to private residential clients and trade companies.Due to continued success the company is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Veneer Preparer/ Wood Machinist working in the Veneer Shop/ Wood Mill. The successful candidate will have a real passion for making fine furniture and enjoys working with a wide variety of different timbers and materials.JOB ROLE (not limited to):· Hand select the appropriate veneers, cut them to size following a supplied cutting list and lay them up ready for pressing onto a sheet material.· Press the veneers on to the sheet material before trimming and cleaning them ready for processing.· Cut sheet material (MDF, Plywood) on a panel saw and apply solid lipping’s· Being responsible for own working area, keeping it clean tidy and cleaning down equipment and machinery.· Liaising with other team members to manage workflow.· Opportunities to progress in the sawmill using heavy duty machinery to process the finished components are available once the key veneer skills have been learnt and mastered.THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:· Experience with working with veneers and heavy-duty machinery preferred but not essential as full training can be given (experience will reflect rates of pay).· Ability to read and understand technical drawings and cutting lists.
