Job Description

UnderwritersWe have a great opportunity for an Underwriter to join our successful expanding team. Ideal candidates will need to have an excellent working knowledge and understanding of Liability insurance.If you are enthusiastic, passionate and enjoy being part of a first-class team, then this could be the role you have been waiting for.You will need to possess a willingness to develop your skills, because we want to create future opportunities through cross-skilling and upskilling.The Role:

  • You will be a point of contact for broker partners and deliver exceptional customer service as part of the existing business teams.
  • You will underwrite and produce renewal terms or mid-term adjustments within the underwriting appetite of the Insurer partners.
  • Be a team player and contribute to the growth and retention strategy targets by negotiating terms and securing renewals, whilst working within your personal licence authority and binder agreements.
  • Take ownership of your work, prioritise, meet deadlines, ensure you follow the processes in place whilst constantly looking for opportunities to improve the customer journey.
  • Develop your own skills and knowledge as well as embracing the technical and soft skills coaching and training they will provide throughout your career.
Skills youll need:
  • Good knowledge of underwriting principles.
  • Good risk analysis and technical skills.
  • A team player but also self-motivated.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation and verbal and written communication.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Good judgement, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to use your initiative and work well under pressure.
