Job Description

Are YOU an UNDERWRITER looking for you next career opportunityAre YOU looking to join a reputable, well-established Insurance firmReed Insurance are currently assisting our client who are looking to add 2 Liability Underwriters to join their team on a FULL-TIME, PERMANENT basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful and dynamic Managing General Agent.Our client offers the highest quality service and they sue their unrivalled industry knowledge to compliment their range of superior products. They aim to offer the best solutions and services possible making them the smart choice and first option for customers.Your role would be:

  • The point of contact for broker partners and deliver exceptional customer service as a part of their existing business teams
  • To underwriter and produce renewal terms or mid-term adjustments within the underwriting of the Insurance partners
  • Take ownership of your work, prioritise in order to meet deadlines and follow processes that are in place whilst constantly looking for opportunities to improve the customer journey
  • Contribute to the growth and retention and strategy target by using negotiation skills to secure renewals, whilst working within you personal licence authority and binder agreements
  • Develop your skills and knowledge as well as embracing the technical and soft skills coaching and training that will be provided
You will need:
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of Liability Insurance
  • Good knowledge of underwriting principles and practice
  • Good risk analysis and technical skills
  • To be self-motivated but also an excellent team player
  • Demonstrate a trading mindset and commercial awareness
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation and verbal and written communication
  • Good judgement, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to use you own initiative and work well under pressure
