Job Description

At Smart Education, we prioritise fostering strong bonds with both our schools and supportstaff to ensure we match you with the most fulfilling placements.About the Role:As a Special Needs Support Worker, you will be dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of children aged 4 to 19 with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). This is a full-time, long-term position that offers a unique opportunity to work within aspecialist school environment.Responsibilities:In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing support to children with special educational needs, focusing on their physical and sensory requirements, as well as their social, emotional, and mental well-being.
  • Offering intimate care assistance as needed, maintaining the dignity and respect of each student.
  • Collaborating with teachers to facilitate writing annotations and assessments.
  • Supporting the overall development and progress of the students.
Requirements:To qualify for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
  • Previous experience as a childrens Support Worker.
  • Proficiency in addressing physical and sensory needs.
  • Familiarity with supporting social, emotional, and mental health outcomes.
  • Willingness to assist with intimate care when required.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with class or form teachers on assessments.
  • Experience working with Severe Learning Difficulties.
  • Possession of a child/adult DBS on the update service or the capability to apply for one.
  • Availability to provide references covering the last 2 years of employment.
  • Promptness in completing the application process, as this role begins immediately.
  • Commitment to a full-time schedule, working 5 days per week.
