Job Description

We are working with a Business Communications Solutions provider in the Dudley area. Do you have server, network and support experience, and are you seeking a new job in the West Midlands Jonathan Lee Recruitment are looking to recruit a full-time Server,Desktop and Network Technician. As the Technician, you will be working as part of a team 6 supporting the providers clients/ internal systems and hardware. This is predominantly an office based role 8.30 - 5.30 with very occasional site visits to cover thefield team when they are unavailable.We are looking for a established 2nd line level with experience across infrastructure and network support to help configure, manage and support core server and desktop infrastructure along with the ongoing development of infrastructure in terms of growth,product evaluation, functionality and network requirements, including switching and routing.The main responsibilities are

  • Work within an expanding team to deliver excellent customer service
  • Act as primary technical contact to customers for support queries
  • Provide technical support for any hardware or software-related issues customers or internal users highlight
  • Assist with the management of the internal infrastructure
  • Liaise with 3rd party support providers when support issues arise.
To succeed in this Server, Desktop and Network Engineer job, you will need to be an outgoing individual who is confident working alone or within a team environment. You will also need:
  • Experience with networking infrastructure (switching, routing, VLANs, Wireless, MPLS)
  • Troubleshooting Internet & WAN Access circuits, specifically ADSL, FTTC, FTTP, SoGEA and Ethernet circuits.
  • Experience with Cisco, HP and DrayTek routers/switches.
  • Working with FortiGate products.
  • Assist with the management of the internal infrastructure.
  • Liaise with 3rd party support providers when support issues arise.
  • Build, configuration and deployment of Desktop Computers
Excellent numerical, analytical, interpersonal and client-facing skills
  • The ability to work in a methodical manner, multi-task and prioritise workload to match deadlines
  • The ability to converse with key business stakeholders to explain technical issues concisely
  • Excellent fault-finding skills.
