Job Description

Would you like to join a business as an experienced Mechanical Fitter that supplies the naval and marine services globally in the Dudley area If yes, we would like to hear from you.Annual Salary/Holiday:

  • £30,368 plus overtime as req
  • 25 days plus 8 bank holidays
Weekly Hours:
  • Mon to Fri - 07.30 to 16.00
Purpose of the Role/Role Overview:Working as part of the team to build marine davits.General Duties/Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Bolt, rivet or screw assembled components in place.
  • Assemble and fit prefabricated parts.
  • Constructing and assembling mechanical systems
  • Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions.
  • Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Align and level machinery and equipment.
  • Install hydraulic, pneumatic and other types of valves and piping.
PERSON SPECIFICATIONSkills and Abilities:
  • Use of micrometres, bore mics, verniers and height gauges
  • Team player who can work independently with minimum supervision
  • Competent mathematically with good problem solving skills
  • Ability to use machine tools including - lathe
  • Able to follow a pre-planned schedule of work/instructions/procedures
Experience:
  • Industrial/heavy engineering background
  • Carrying out manual duties
  • Minimum 5 years as a Mechanical Fitter
Qualifications:
  • Apprenticeship or equivalent NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering
