Job Description

Recruit Moore have been approached by our client in Brierley Hill to support them in finding an Electrical Engineer.In this role, the successful candidate would be working as part of the electrical design team to deliver projects from feasibility through to construction. The projects range from electrical supply upgrades, solar PV designs and decarbonisation schemes suchas Air Source, through to technical coordinated design for large multinational contractors.Daily tasks would include producing drawings specifications and reports using relevant software packages such as AutoCAD, Dialux, Hevacomp and Microsoft Office.Duties to include -

  • Contributing to developing the design of engineering solutions and systems within the built environment
  • Producing electrical designs and drawings for a wide range of projects
  • Using AutoCAD to generate working drawings for construction projects
  • Producing reports to support design concepts that show compliance with standards and best practice guides
  • Producing electrical engineering specifications for a wide range of projects
  • Carrying out site surveys and inspecting existing installations in accordance with regulations
  • Carrying out inspections on ongoing installations reviewing progress, quality, and performance
  • Attend and participate in client meetings and site meetings
  • Attend and participate in design team meetings with wider disciplines
  • Attend internal design department meetings and participate in time management and workload planning
  • Build relationships with clients through good communication and output
Experience required -
  • Experience in electrical engineering, engineering consultancy and/or electrical installations
  • Experience in design calculation software packages: AutoCAD, Dialux, Hevacomp, Cymap, IES
  • Good working knowledge of industry regulations, electrical design, and installations
  • Good working knowledge of utility services, both new connections and disconnections
  • Able to manage/prioritise workload to meet deadlines whilst maintaining good communication with clients and design teams.
  • ONC/HNC in electrical engineering or equal professional qualifications
Salary depending on experience -
  • Intermediate Engineer - £27,000 (plus discretionary bonus following probation period)
  • Electrical Engineer - £34,000 (plus discretionary bonus following probation period)
  • Senior Electrical Engineer - £40,000-£45,000 (plus discretionary bonus following probation period)
Hours -
  • 08:30 - 17:30, Monday - Friday
