Job Description

Live in Housekeeper Job, Bridport,Dorset We have a wonderful opportunity for an experienced housekeeper to help look after a beautiful 9-bedroom property situated on a stunning estate with 80 acres of land and beautiful gardens. They are a wonderfully friendly and approachable couple to work forwho are really looking for someone to stay with them long-term.This is their main residence although they like to travel frequently. Their friends and grown-up children with their families do tend to visit often. The family also employ a part-time cleaner twice a week, which you will need to oversee, and there is a second housekeeper to cover days off that will also need to be coordinated.The role also involves looking after their two beautiful dogs when the couple are away shared with the other housekeeper. In addition, helping in the garden, mostly watering on the weekends so ideally you would enjoy this part of the role (Specialist gardeningknowledge not required- there is a team of 5 gardeners) .Duties include:

  • Hands-on Housekeeping to a high standard, alongside 2 other part-time cleaners.
  • Laundry and ironing and wardrobe management, including unpacking suitcases.
  • Help prepare simple meals on occasion, mostly a simple breakfast, helping them with food prep for lunch and Dinner on occasion cooking an evening meal for the couple or batch cooking. When guests are in residence, laying out breakfast for guests.
  • Helping out with the kitchen garden watering when the gardeners are not available.
  • Care of the dogs when they are in residence - including taking them for walks and to the vets including pet sitting.
  • Overseeing contractors reporting and logging maintenance issues
  • Ordering weekly food shops
  • Unpacking deliveries keeping on top of stock levels
  • Running errands
  • Keeping on top of the organisation of the home including stock inventories
  • Providing refreshments for owners and guests when needed.
  • Meeting and greeting guests
The ideal person for the role is someone who is discreet and understands boundaries and can read a room. Someone who can use their own initiative and be able to recognise what the couple need before they have thought of it themselves.In addition someone polite, friendly, warm and confident. Flexibility is needed for the role as sometimes days can be longer when the family have guests over.Days: 5 days over the weekend with two consecutive days off in the week.When the couple are not in residence it will be Monday - Friday and weekends off.Hours: 40 hours, any overtime worked will be given back in Lieu.Accommodation - In this large manor house at one end of the wing and on the top level there is a large one bedroom flat with bathroom, which comes with a separate entrance.Partners and pets cannot be accomodatedSalary: up to £45,000 depending on experience and duties.Start: As soon as the right person is foundJob Number: 112614Consultant to contact: Vicky Smith
