Job Description

Role: Quality EngineerLocation: BridgendHours: 9.00am - 5.00 pm (can start as early as 6am)Salary: £38,000 - £40,000 plus (more for the right candidate)Benefits: Yearly bonus to 8% | 25days holiday + BH | shares scheme | Pension to 10%.Direct Reports: None, but will be responsible for a QA technician day to day activitiesJob Summary:

  • Managing the quality of product and processes through routine monitoring and reacting to adverse trend analysis related to scrap and rework and product testing. Utilise the trend data to drive continuous improvements across the shop floor, leading qualityinitiatives and kaizen activities.
Direct Reports:
  • None, but will be responsible for a QA technician day to day activities
Main Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance and assist with adherence to the Quality Management System
  • Experience of ISO 13485 preferred but not essential
  • Good working knowledge and experience of creating pFMEAs, and control plans alongside understanding risk based statistical techniques, in particular process risk, statistical sampling plans, process capability and Gauge R&Rs.
  • Good Problem-solving skills for root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions using CAPAs and IEs agreeing closed loop corrective actions with Operations & Eng. Teams.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues that arise.
  • Carry out internal auditing / GEMBA walks to ensure QMS compliance and continuous improvement activities. (training provided)
  • Ensure operations team compliance to procedures and associated documentation.
  • Assist with leading and training of quality awareness.
  • Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Produce written reports and make presentations as required.
Qualifications / Experience / Characteristics:
  • Time served Quality Engineer (Minimum of 3 years)
  • Experience of working in a regulated industry preferred not essential
  • Experience with PFMEA, Root Cause Analysis, Continuous Improvement, Controls Plans
  • Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) concepts like Corrective Action & Preventative Action(CAPA)
  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to prioritise own work
  • Self-Motivated
  • Competent on Microsoft packages
