Job Description

Financial Accountant - Bridgend Hybrid Working Opportunity Salary up to £50,000 + Excellent Benefits PackageA superb opportunity has arisen for a strong technical Accountant to work for a global market leader and major player within South Wales. Reporting into the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will be responsible for implementing accounting principles,practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with SOX internal controls.This role is extremely varied and hands on and it requires an individual that is flexible and willing to help out with any task, no matter how small in order to get the job done within the agreed timescales. You will have an inquisitive nature, be pro-activein approach and have a seasoned background within financial accounts. The successful candidate will be required to manage and oversee the daily operations of the department.Key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure overall general ledger integrity, overseeing the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams
  • Production of month end and year end process
  • Coordinate SOX internal and external audit
  • VAT returns for UK & Ireland
  • Fixed asset activity
  • Review, monitor and control monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliation
  • Prepare statutory financial statements and group reporting for consolidated financial statements
  • Cost reporting and reconciliation
  • File annual company returns
  • Improvement of internal control system and preparation of policies & procedures
  • Liaising with Audit
  • Focusing on European regions
Person Specifications:
  • Previous exposure of working within Manufacturing/Wholesale business would be highly advantageous
  • Strong IT skills, having the ability to analyse and interpret data targeted at both financial and non-financial managers
  • Strong analytical and project management skills
  • Go getting attitude
  • Flexible and willingness to take on a variety of projects
  • Work both independently and as a part of a team
