Job Description

Category SpecialistBridgend£29’500 (pro rata)– 9 month FTCI’m recruiting for a Category Specialist who is available to start a new assignment in the next few weeks for 9 month contract. This is an opportunity to work with a thriving organisation who value, support and develop all members of their organisation, and one you will thoroughly enjoy working with.What you’ll be doing:Working within the Category team you’ll be responsible for supporting the Category Manager on a broad range of procurement projects.Typical responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and delivering a category strategy for your assigned categories
  • Providing assistance and support to our Purchasing Health Check/Contracts Register process for analysing spend and contract management.
  • Undertaking market intelligence and analysis activities in regard to supplier selection.
  • Supporting bid activities from writing tenders to evaluation to selection and providing cost breakdown analysis and quotation analysis.
  • Undertaking and supporting sourcing and tendering activities
  • Supporting the creation and delivery of appropriate contracts.
  • Supporting the selection and on-boarding process for new suppliers, plus conducting all relevant checks.
  • Providing supervisory support to Procurement Co-ordinators.
  • What you’ll need:
  • Experience of public procurement regulations (PCR2015), plus the ability to ensure compliance when delivering value.
  • A track record for achieving savings, adding value and to provide excellent customer service.
  • Understanding of PCR2015 and OJEU Tendering.
  • CIPS qualified or working towards.
