You must have been resident in the UK for at least the last 5 years and cannot have been outside the UK for more than 28 days on anyone occasion within this time.To be successful in this role:You will have thorough experience as an Oracle PL/SQL Developer, Applications Support Analyst or DBA. Good knowledge of PL/SQL is a must; and exposure to Oracle partitioning, RAC, Dataguard and RMAN would be advantageous. The database is Oracle 11g runningon Unix. Suitable training can be provided and Oracle Certification would be encouraged.This position would suit either an experienced PL/SQL Developer/Support Analyst who would like exposure to Oracle Database Administration; or as an all-round Oracle database specialist who does not mind a challenge and would like to work on a large programmethat has a positive impact on safeguarding UK Citizens.Position summary:Our client is looking for an Oracle Applications Support Analyst to join their team in Bridgend. There may be occasional paid evening and weekend work for support activities as required.Job role and responsibilities:As an Applications Support Analyst you will provide application support and Database Administration to our key clients on a VLDB with multiple partitioning strategies. This typically comprises Application Support to identify data anomalies and code defects;PL/SQL and SQL statement tuning; Application releases and deployments together with Database Administration; Capacity Planning; Performance Monitoring and Tuning.
