Job Description

As well as being a key member of the team that further strengthens the foundation of their business, you will have the opportunity to add value that is felt throughout their customer base.The job holder may take responsibility for a specific project or hold a larger remit in terms of overall SHEQ responsibility.Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and continuously review Risk Assessments to ensure they are accurate, up to date and consistently meets the requirements of the business
  • Keep all COSHH assessments up to date on the SharePoint system for HUK and HCL
  • To ensure that the business meets and exceed the ISO stands for; 9001:2018, 14001 and 45001
  • Internal audit processes are followed and further improved upon
  • Ensure that the business is compliant to the highest standards by working cross functionally with department leaders: guiding them to set up strong QMS processes that define their procedures
  • Investigate and report on Accidents within the business to assist in reducing instances and severity through understanding and training
  • Deliver toolbox talks regularly with the intention of keeping all staff up to date with current best practice standards
  • With the assistance of the caretaker, take control of all service and contractor visits to site, ensuring the correct RAMS and documentation are in place before any work is carried out. This now includes COVID 19 processes
  • Environmental duties, such as ensuring that Waste Transfer/ F Gas / Electric Gas and Water Monitoring are kept on top of
  • WEEE and Packing compliance is maintained in line with company policy and Group direction
  • Deliver Quality briefs, updates and reports as and when required
  • Assist HR and HS staff with occupational health assessments (DSE, COVID 19, Working with COSHH etc)
  • Monitor all on site activity, ensuring all documentation is current and in place, such as PAT Testing, RAMS/Risk assessment and Hot/Cold works)
  • Skills and Experience
  • Proven SHEQ experience, within a manufacturing environment
  • In depth knowledge and practical application of quality processes and legal standards
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of processes and compliance within
  • Ability to add value, reduce costs and make business improvements
  • Excellent communicator
  • Contract management experience
  • Planning and Project management experience
  • Able to extract information from data to provide clear direction to suggest improvements
  • Nebosh Qualification
  • Understanding of the HASAW Act 1974
  • Relevant business/commercial or manufacturing/engineering degree is preferred, HNC, BTEC Higher Professional Diploma, or equivalent NVQ Level 4 qualifications.
  • ATEX electrically Qualified
  • Minimum of Nebosh (H&S) certified
  • Level 2 Health and Safety
  • Further Training and development will be offered as and when required or needed
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a SHEQ role, with at least 2 years’ experience as a manager or equivalent level of responsibility
