Job Description

RAC have the exciting opportunity to appoint a Content Marketing Manager to join the Performance Marketing team on a permanent basis. Youll be reporting to the SEO, Affiliate & Content Marketing Manager.We are looking for an experienced, talented content expert who will be able to take ownership and accountability for the RACs content strategy. The Content Marketing Manager is responsible for generating traffic, revenue and increasing organic search visibilityfor the RAC Drive site through engaging, informative SEO optimised content. Well look to you to lead our content ideation, planning, briefing to our in-house writer, editing and reporting. You must have the ability to work autonomously, have excellent writtenand verbal communication skills and the ability to influence others to support growth of RACs core products and services.This role will be delivered on a flexible hybrid model of working two days at our Bradley Stoke office, Bristol and three days working from home.Role purposeResponsible for curation of content for the RAC Content Hub, digital publishing through the CMS and managing the RAC Newsletter to support the growth of traffic and revenue on the editorial section of the RAC website.This role requires:

  • Content production covering SEO tool-led research, gap analysis, ideation, editorial calendar management, briefing, proofing, and editing
  • Subdomain management: making content optimisation based on SEO, UX and financial demands
  • Making promotional changes to support product owners, brand and comms, and wider business goals. Includes build, sign off, deployment and audit
  • Yield optimisation to improve revenue per visitor via 3rd party ads with our media agency and effective RAC product marketing activity
  • Reporting: track and provide insight on Drive performance using Adobe Analytics dashboards, Google Search Console and Google Data Studio. Use results to dictate your short-term tactical optimisation, and long-term strategic activity
  • Management of the RAC Newsletter. Build, sign off, deploy, and optimise a fortnightly newsletter
  • Stakeholder management: liaise with product owners, channel owners and other internal stakeholders to support them with content marketing activity where time and resource allows amongst your objectives. Use an inventory management calendar to schedule supportin the newsletter and on web as per a stakeholder hierarchy
  • Agency management covering development, hosting, content production, and media support
  • Budget management. Make effective use of your budget to achieve business objectives. Involves PO raising, liaising with agencies, tracking monthly spend, building business cases
Skills, Knowledge and qualificationsThe ideal candidate would have 3+ years experience in a content marketing or editorial role (in-house or agency), with a strong understanding of SEO.Were looking for someone with strong website curation skills and the ability to take ownership of content that appeals at once to our readers and to search engines. Youll have extensive copy editing, researching, editing and proofreading experience. Youllbe confident working with a CMS and have an eye for UX. Youll be comfortable working at pace and achieving tight deadlines.
