Job Description

We are currently seeking a 3D CAD Technician to join a well-established family-run SME based in Bristol, UK. As a CAD Technician your position involves utilizing Solid Edge parametric modelling to draught and design in 3D. You will also be interpreting surveys and producing document issue drawings for manufacture and fitters’ drawings. The role would work closely with the project managers and is part of a small but enthusiastic team.Key responsibilities and duties of this role...

  • To take a brief from the project management team
  • Create sketches and mood board concepts for initial feedback and ideas.
  • Create 3D design concepts and rendered visuals, using standard or bespoke systems, materials, and components
  • Put the above into a presentation and proposal templates, adding the various notes and annotations
  • To take the above and create technical drawings for approval by client
  • To create pro-active design concepts
  • To ensure that all project designs are completed within the timescales required
  • Work on a number of design projects at different stages
  • Communicate with architects and clients to ensure designs are fully understood and achievable
  • Produce detailed technical drawings

  • 3D Solid edge experience is essential
  • Characteristics required are: Good Attitude, Honest, Upbeat & Positive, Team Player, Action-orientated
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given
  • Degree or qualified in relevant field
  • Time management and personal organizational skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines in a high-pressured environment
