Job Title: Test ManagerLocation: Huddersfield (hybrid working available)Annual salary: Up to £55,000 depending on experience plus bonus and other company benefitsContract: full-time/ permanentRole overview:Here at FMG we have a fantastic opportunity in our Business Transformation Department; we are the UKs leading independent provider of fleet and insurer incident management and specialist vehicle recovery services. Due to continued growth, we are now seekingan ambitious and experienced Test Manager to lead the business testing activities across various IT change projects within the companys portfolioReporting directly to the Head of Business Change and working in collaboration with other stakeholders in the business, your main responsibility will be to evolve and champion a business testing framework to ensure a consistent approach across all projectsand manage the testing activities for assigned projects.Your key responsibilities will include:Produce Test Strategy, Test Plans and Test Scripts for functional, integration and performance testing of applications, databases and infrastructure buildsProduce and present test and quality documentation for quality gate reviewsProvide time and effort estimates for testing activitiesEnsures that any risks associated with the agreed test strategy and the system test plan are clearly documented and described to the clients/users and colleaguesTakes responsibility for the production of testing deliverables and achievement of testing milestones during a projectCarry out validation, integration, system and performance testing of software, both functional and non-functional on both applications and databases, as well as testing infrastructure buildsTakes responsibility for all phases of testing and the management of the testing activities within a development projectManages all risks associated with the testing and takes preventative action when any risks become unacceptableRecord results in summary and detailed format and communicate those results as appropriate to all levelsRecord and manage defectsWork closely with developers to investigate the causes of defects and help develop solutionsWork closely with Change Management to ensure testing is conducted in line with business requirementsMaintain control of test environments and releases into test and production environmentsIdentify opportunities to improve the testing processError identification, investigation and resolutionAbout youISEB qualifiedDemonstrable, software testing experienceExperience working within a formalised test and development frameworkA good appreciation of Quality Control and Configuration Control processesExperienced in testing applications, databases and infrastructureProven experience in understanding end-user needs and testing accordinglyExperienced at testing end user focused web &/or rich client applicationsGood communication skills and a flexible team playerExperience working with Waterfall & Agile methodologiesAbility to work well on own or as part of a small team, sometimes in a pressurized environmentA proactive self-starter, willing to drive issues to resolution with appropriate persistence and persuasivenessGood communication skills, both verbal and written, to build and maintain solid relationships with internal and external stakeholders including senior managementWhats in it for you Salaryup to £55k plus bonus scheme and other company benefitsAnnual Leave- 25 days holiday increasing to 28 days plus Bank holidaysPension- Contributory pension scheme Financial Benefits- save-as-you-earn scheme, free life assurance and a range of national and local retailer discounts.
