Job Description

Location: Huddersfield, with home workingSalary: £65,000£75,000 (pro rata)Contract: 14 month Fixed Term ContractHours: 37.5 hours per weekWe have a unique opportunity to join our Group Finance team as a Financial Reporting & Controls Manager (14 month FTC). Reporting to the Head of Financial Reporting and Control, this role is responsible for internal management reporting, balance sheet reviewsand annual production of subsidiary legal entity accounts. Additionally you will manage a team of qualified and part qualified accountants.This role has arisen due to maternity cover and will be for a period of 14 months. As the team is relatively new in the Group structure, this will involve transformational responsibilities and some project work in addition to BAU.What will you do

  • Lead and support a management accounts team for certain companies within the Group
  • Prepare/review balance sheet or external reporting reconciliations
  • Responsible for payroll journals and reconciliations monthly
  • Continue with a plan of implementing and running a uniform balance sheet review process across the Group
  • Manage the month end reporting process to plc
  • Review intercompany balances across the Group and ensure all differences are reconciled/resolved
  • Establish processes for checking and updating mandates and authorities
  • Lead the team through year end and ensure all submissions required for Group ARA reporting are completed within agreed deadlines
  • Agree timetable and prepare legal entity accounts using CaseWare software, review of accounts prepared by team and submission to audit as required
  • Prepare/review external reporting eg FCA/ONS/VAT returns
  • Supporting the GL migration project

  • At least 5 years post qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) accountancy experience
  • A good understanding of technical reporting disclosure requirements under FRS 101, 102 and IFRS
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Able to articulate complex / judgemental ideas
  • Mindset of process improvement and an inquisitive mind
  • Ability to plan, organise and work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to manage a team and stakeholders of all levels effectively
  • Experience of working in a matrix organisational structure / large corporate.
