General Sheet Metal WorkerMeyer Scott Ref: VR/08581Salary: £11.50 - £13.00 per hourLocation: Bourn, CambsType: TemporaryOur client is celebrating its 50th year designing, manufacturing, and installing high quality noise and vibration control products.They are looking for three personnel to join the team responsible for the manufacture of high-quality noise and vibration acoustic control products.The role will be based in the workshop manufacturing a variety of steel based acoustic products, including enclosures, louvres, attenuators, screens, doors, and vibration isolators. Some products are simply despatched from the factory, but most are deliveredto and installed on site by the installation team.This role involves a wide variety of tasks, using equipment such as guillotine, punch, notcher and press brake, together with hand tools such as drills, riveters, snips, jigsaws and rivnut tools, turning sheet steel into our bespoke products. They are lookingfor reliable, determined, friendly, and motivated people to join the team to handle the increasing workload.Appropriate in house on the job training will be given to the successful candidate, supplying them with valuable skills and knowledge of working with a variety of materials and tools to become a valued member of the Team.Additional external training e.g., Forklift Truck and First Aid will be provided to the suitable candidate when appropriate.A team player mentality is essentialDuties include

Working in the factory, manufacturing a range of bespoke products for specific projects.
Working with in house machinery including guillotine, press brake, bandsaw etc.
Prepare and collate materials, as per each order, in readiness for despatch.
Assemble and install a variety of enclosures etc. in the factory ready to be shipped directly to the client.
Problem solving, as and when required
Quality Control throughout production
Ensure all tools are maintained and used in a safe manner
Maintain a clean and tidy work area
Be prepared for a wide variety of tasks and jobs, learning new skills and techniques in the sheet metal and fabrication industry.

Accurate and precise working skills
Able to read drawings
Able to use a range of sheet metal manufacturing equipment and tools
Able to safely lift heavy loads
Able to follow management instructions
Work as a team member to produce work to a high standard.
Good verbal and written communication skills
A motivated attitude and practical aptitude will be crucial for the most suitable candidate.

Hours: Monday - Friday 8-hour shifts between 7am - 5:30pm, some weekend work may be required. 40 hours is standard pay. Up 45 hours is 1.25%, up 55 hours is 1.5% and anything over 55 hours is double time. Most workers wanting overtime invariablycomplete 40 hours by Thursday!Up to 40 hours - standard rate: £11.50 per hourUp to 45 hours - standard rate + 1.25%: £14.38 per hourUp to 55 hours - Standard rate + 1.50%: £17.25 per hourOver 55 hours - double time: £23.00 per hour
