Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with and development of the Procurement policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Delivery of sourcing and risk identification.
  • Tender, negotiate and coordinate the execution of framework contracts with suppliers.
  • To be a key contributor to the growing Procurement department.
  • Provide high quality analysis and MI of Procurement activities to inform strategic decision making.
  • Support the buyers to run the competitions and negotiations in conformance with the strategy and to deliver optimum value for the Business.
  • Maintain quality procurement records.
  • Contribute to forward planning of Procurement activities.
  • Be an expert resource to support colleagues in running procurement exercises.
  • Manage more complex and higher value procurement tendering directly.
  • Ensure all necessary approvals and documentation are in place for all spend.
  • Line management and mentoring responsibility.
  • Provide both internal and external issue resolution.
  • Provide reports to Group Procurement Manager on procurement activities, objectives, and savings.
  • Work with other departments to install and embed the developing processes and procedures.
  • Participate in audits and tenders where necessary.
  • Manage the external and newly acquired businesses supply chains and work streams.
  • Serve as the primary contact within the procurement team for all Supplier requests.
Skills and Experience:
  • Self-driven with proven ability in a fast-paced growing organisation.
  • Ideally from a Utilities/Projects background
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Fully proficient in tendering and Supplier relationship management.
  • Able to confidently work alone, and as part of a growing team.
  • Full UK Driving licence.
  • Articulate and excellent analytic and reporting skills.
  • Fully proficient with MS systems (Power BI) would be an advantage.
  • ERP system knowledge.
