Job Description

An experienced Accounts Assistant / Credit Controlled is needed to join our team at Albanwise Insurance Services based in Hertfordshire on a part-time basis. We are a busy and friendly insurance brokerage that forms part of a much larger group covering property, agriculture, renewable energy and environmental consultancy, as well as insurance.The selected candidate will be required to work 20 hours per week which can be taken flexibly. Either four hours per day, Monday to Friday, or a set two and a half days each week, all office based.This is an exciting opportunity to further your career with a well-established company!About UsOur clients trust us to look after all types of Commercial Insurance businesses, but our specialism is bricks and mortar. Commercial Property and Residential Blocks of Flats. That’s our sweet spot.Key Responsibilities:

  • Settling insurer accounts on a monthly basis
  • Liaising with other team members to reconcile the insurer statements
  • Being the interface with the Group finance function
  • Settling payments to third parties
  • Some credit control with key clients
  • Receipting payments received and occasionally taking payments over the phone
  • Assisting with setting up payment plans for clients when required
  • Monthly reporting to directors
Required Experience:
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook
  • Excel and Word are essential
Desirable Experience:
  • Experience in using the Acturis Insurance IT platform would be useful but not essential
  • Previous experience working in the insurance industry would be welcomed but not necessarily required, as training and mentoring will be provided
Required Skills:
  • A good communicator
  • Have a positive outlook
  • Be able to get on with their fellow team members

  • 11.5 days holiday, although it is also current practice to additionally shut over the Christmas break
