Job Description

A well-established Toolmaker and Injection Moulding business who offer a full design to production service for the plastics industry are looking for an experienced Toolmaker to join their team.Working within a modern, fully equipped Toolroom, this position will play a key role within the company, ensuring that the high quality of services provided are maintained and improved.As a Toolmaker, your duties will include -

  • The manufacture of new mould tools
  • Repair, maintenance and service of tools
  • Taking initial component drawings or CAD files and producing intricate moulds using up-to-date technology and CNC engineering
  • Assessing customer tools and components, investigating the best course of action for repairing or modifying
  • Liaising with the toolroom manger to plan and prioritise the workload around the companies needs and requirements
We are keen to hear from any Toolmaker applicants with -
  • A mechanical engineering qualification, toolmaker apprenticeship or equivalent
  • Experience in manufacturing, repairing and maintaining injection mould tools
  • Experience in CNC machining, capable of operating, setting and programming
  • Experience with EDM wire and spark erosion
  • Competence in the use of manual and standard toolroom equipment (lathes, mills, surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, manual spark eroder)
  • An ability to read and understand to drawings and models in both 2D and 3D
  • Exposure to CAD and 3D modelling would be advantageous
On offer for the successful Toolmaker -
  • A salary of £36,500
  • Day shift: 7am - 4:30pm Monday/Tuesday, 7am - 4pm Wednesday/Thursday, 7am - 3pm Friday
  • 2 Business performance cash bonuses per year (June / December)
  • 33 days holiday including bank holidays
