Job Description

Are you a Quality Engineer or a Junior Quality Engineer looking to take the next step in your career Want to work for an international manufacturing company, based at the Head Office in Bolton You will be part of a group of companies, renowned in theirindustry, whose products are designed and developed at each site, innovative, environmentally forward thinking and collaborative in approach with a recognised known client base. There is an established learning and development training pathways/ packages availablefor all employees. Your main function will be to provide to join our team a team of 3 working to strengthen quality in the manufacturing facilities. Reporting to the Quality Lead you will be championing the companys quality control agenda. As part of a collaborativeteam approach the company encourages staff to submit ideas, to improve processes, working together to a shared company goal. You will be rewarded with, a supportive business, great work to life balance (no weekend working). The position is full-time, 38 hoursper week, Monday to Thursday 7.30 am to 4.00 pm and Friday 7.30 am - 12.50 pm with a salary of £30,000 -£34,000.Quality Engineer Duties:

  • Maintain a good knowledge of new and existing products and technical specifications.
  • Playing an active role in the consistency of quality products and supporting customer requirements.
  • Implementation and ownership of all quality related activities
  • You will drive. lead, investigate and identify root causes of non-conformance and implement continuous improvements and preventative measures.
  • Ensure FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests), Final Quality Check documentation is logged and updated
  • Support the business and improvement activities to reduce scrap/ waste reduction, rework, and non-value-added costs while maintaining 100% quality performance.
  • Improve the quality service by evaluating systems and devising new processes as appropriate.
  • Advising and reporting non-conformances and suggest improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and maintain robust quality management systems in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Monitor and analyse production data to identify trends and implement process improvements for enhanced quality and efficiency.
  • Facilitate process validation activities and develop protocols and reports to ensure product integrity and performance.
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure their products meet the quality standards and assist in supplier quality evaluations.
  • Provide guidance and training to production teams to enhance their understanding of quality requirements and standards.
  • Support Quality Inspections across a variety of products both internally and externally.
  • Update all Quality findings as per company protocol.
  • Dealing with domestic and international supplier’s distribution.
  • Other duties as requested by the Manager.
Requirements:
  • 3 years experience in similar position in manufacturing/ production or Engineering environment is essential HND/HNC/ HND ir work based equivilent in Quality Management, Quality Engineering with some electrical engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of ATEX (Atmosphere Explosible) of would be desirable, however it is not essential as training will be given.
  • A good working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques with a strong understanding of ISO9001 and IS4001 standards.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, in Excel, and Word and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of Axapta or Epicor or other ERP would be advantageous however, training will be given.
  • Strong communication both written and verbal, able to build relationships, understanding of working in fast paced environments with the ability to prioritise and adapt to change, whilst able to understand process or continuous improvement.
  • Required ability to work to deadlines, targets and SLAS.
  • Team player, hands on approach with a positive attitude to learning and can work collaboratively.
  • On occasion you will be required to travel to other group sites.
