Job Description

Are you an experienced Purchasing Co-ordinator or Buying Coordinator Are you looking to join a fantastic company with a friendly, well established team If so, this could be the role for you. There is a salary of up to GBP27,000 depending on experienceand brilliant benefits including holidays that rise to 25 days holiday plus bank holidays after 2 years, pension scheme, flexible working hours and employee incentives and social events. Your role as a Purchasing Co-ordinator:Working as a part of a well established, friendly and welcoming team, you will be carrying out a varied purchasing role. Duties will include:

  • Raising purchase orders for all delegated suppliers as required to meet the production plans
  • Keeping a constant check on stock levels to avoid excessive purchasing of stock and/or stock shortages
  • Using existing suppliers but also sourcing new suppliers and negotiating as required
  • Ensuring purchase orders are reconciled to order acknowledgements to ensure there are no discrepancies
  • Ensuring that all orders not received on time are chased for delivery and the new expected delivery date inputted on to the system
  • Obtaining quotes for miscellaneous bought-in-items and special parts for production items an
  • Creating and inputting Bills of Material and Bills of Operations onto the ERP system for non-production products/parts as required
  • Obtaining quotes from suppliers for specialist products/parts and assisting suppliers with drawing requests to enable them to provide prices
  • Ensuring that supplier questionnaires for all delegated suppliers are distributed and are chased for return along with all required certifications
We would love to hear from you if you have the following skills and experience:
  • Have previous experience in a similar Purchasing Co-Ordinator or Buyer position
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment would be beneficial but is not essential
  • Commercial mindset
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Friendly team player with a good sense of humour
  • Comfortable with Word, Excel and Outlook
