Job Description

Are you a Production Engineer or a Junior Production Engineer looking to take the next step in your career Want to work for an international manufacturing company, based at the Head Office in Bolton You will be part of a group of companies, renowned intheir industry, whose products are designed and developed at each site, innovative, environmentally forward thinking and collaborative in approach with a recognised known client base. There is an established learning and development training pathways/ packagesavailable for all employees. Your main function will be to provide technical and costing support for production as well as supporting new product development. As part of a collaborative team approach the company encourages staff to submit ideas, to improveprocesses, working together to a shared company goal. You will be rewarded with, a supportive business, great work to life balance (no weekend working). The position is full-time, 38 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 7.30 am to 4.00 pm and Friday 7.30 am- 12.50 pm with a salary of £30,000 -£34,000.Production Engineer Duties:

  • Maintain a good knowledge of new and existing products and technical specifications.
  • Provide Technical and Design Engineering support to Production.
  • Calculate direct cost of manufactured Jigs and Tools for Production as well as developing new Tools and Jigs.
  • play a key part in a variety of manufacturing activities including continuous improvement, implementing and planning new manufacturing processes, new product introduction, provide technical training and research and development.
  • Carry out maintenance repairs as and when required
  • Improve the quality service by evaluating systems and devising new processes as appropriate.
  • Other duties as requested by the Manager.
Requirements:
  • 3 years experience in a manufacturing/ production environment is essential and working to meet ISO9001 requirements or equivalent.
  • A HNC/HND/BTEC (or Equivalent in a suitable Engineering/Technical or Mechanical Discipline) is required for this role.
  • Experience of Lathe and milling machines.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, in Excel, and Word and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of Axapta or Epicor or other ERP would be advantageous however, training will be given.
  • Strong communication both written and verbal, able to build relationships, understanding of working in fast paced environments with the ability to prioritise and adapt to change, whilst able to understand process or continuous improvement.
  • Required ability to work to deadlines, targets and SLAS.
  • Team player, hands on approach with a positive attitude to learning and can work collaboratively.
