Job Description

Join our Team! Primary Teaching Assistant needed for a outstanding Primary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Bolton!Are you ready to make a real difference in the lives of students facing Social, Emotional, and Mental Health challenges (SEMH) Our client, a highly regarded Primary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Bolton, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Primary TeachingAssistant to join their supportive & hard-working team.Role: Primary Teaching Assistant at a Primary PRU.Location: Bolton.Start Date: ASAP.Contract: Temp to perm for the right person.Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am-3:30pmPay: Up to £90/day for first 12 weeks. Equal pay to permanent staff from 13th week onward.Training: FREE access to over 2,500 online education focused CPD courses via The National College.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1to1 and small group support to KS2 pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs (SEMH).
  • Assist in implementing personalised learning plans, tailored to individual students requirements.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, encouraging students engagement and emotional well-being.
  • Effectively prevent, de-escalate and manage situations of challenging behaviour in order to bring the focus back on learning.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to develop effective strategies and interventions.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience supporting students with primary aged pupils (essential).
  • Ideally evidence of dealing with challenging behaviours or emotional difficulties.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Resilience, patience, and a compassionate approach to supporting vulnerable learners.
