Job Description

KS3 - KS5 Chemistry teacherFULL TIME, UNTIL JULY 2023 - Bolton - January startProspero Teaching is looking for an experienced Chemistry teacher who can teach up to key stage 5 to join a secondary school in Bolton. This position is to cover the absence of the current post holder. You will be responsible for teaching Chemistry acrossYears 7 to 13, and other Science subjects at Years 7, 8 and 9 on a rotational basis. The department is settled and welcoming and produces excellent results year on year.The school has a fantastic reputation in the catchment area. The relationships with the feeder schools are strong and attitudes toward Science are excellent from Year 7 upwards. The department also includes a team of excellent technicians in place who supportteaching and learning well and are always on hand to support experiments and demonstrations. Each laboratory has a brand new Promethean board in.The position is open to NQTs/ECTs as well as more experienced teachers, and they are willing to support ECTs in any terms towards their induction year. You will be paid to scale from day one of this assignment and we are available to discuss this rolewith teaching professionals as soon as possible.CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS

  • Minimum rate of pay £135 per day
  • Hours - 8:20 am - 4:00pm, plus meetings when required
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Science Graduate, preferably with a 2:2 or higher, preferably Chemistry
  • UK Qualified Teacher Status is essential for this role
  • Previous experience teaching in a UK school
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, however, training can be provided)
  • Up to date Prevent Awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, however, training can be provided)
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate that is registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide a minimum of two professional child related references covering the last 2 years
