Job Description

Estimator - GlazingBlaydon-on-TyneSalary: £25,000 to £35,000Hunter Mason Consulting are looking to hire an Estimator to join our client’s experienced Estimating Department.This is an excellent opportunity to join a privately owned and managed Specialist Subcontracting business within the window/fenestration industry with the role focussing on projects valued between £500 and £50,000.Reporting to the Estimating Manager the role will predominantly cover the following duties:

  • The production of accurately priced tenders which are clearly detailed, competitive, and returned within deadlines.
  • Review of tenders received and filtering of same to maximise success/conversion rate.
  • Maintain good relationships with sub-contractors, suppliers, prospective clients, and professionals to promote further tender enquiries.
  • Carefully inspect, analyse, and review tender documents.
  • Be able to take off and develop Bills of Quantities.
  • Clearly mark BOQ to identify items requiring external quotes and implement the same ensuring sufficient information is issued to enable compliant quotes are generated.
  • Preparation of prelim costs for inclusion in tender.
  • Complete quote analysis comparison and select most suitable for inclusion in tender.
  • Confirm and take cognisance of programme requirements and interface with production/installation departments.
  • Produce Budgets or Cost Plans if necessary.
