Job Description

Fabricator / WelderReed Engineering are working with an esteemed company, renowned for its commitment to quality and service. Specialising in manufacturing a wide range of machined, fabricated, welded, pressed, painted, and laser-cut components, tailored to customer specifications.The company serves diverse industries, including Sub-sea, Oil Gas and Exploration, Rail, Marine, Fastenings, Furniture, Defence, and Aerospace. With an ever-growing client base, their reputation for excellence continues to flourish, making them a leading playerin the market.Your Duties Will Include, Although Will Not Be Limited ToAs the Fabricator / Welder, you will report to the Production Manager as you assist the department in the fabrication a wide variety of components including subsea structures, subsea tooling, steel frames, other duties as required within our specialist weldingand fabrication shop.

  • Evaluating and interpreting drawings, sketches and other data to be used in the preparation of the product to be manufactured.
  • Working with various sections, plate, laser cut and machined components 1-30+ mm thick.
  • Highlighting and communicating any minor faults that may arise which could cause delay to production.
  • Ensuring work is carried out to exact tolerances, and that all operating conditions are correct before commencing manufacture.
  • Maintaining accurate records of production and other operational data
Our Requirements - Fabricator / Welder
  • Be a time-served Fabricator (using MIG or TIG), with a minimum NVQ Level 3 Fabrication / Welding or equivalent.
  • Ability to effectively fabricate products from initial design to completion.
  • Proven experience gained in a factory environment.
  • Proven experience with stainless steel, duplex, aluminium, and high temperature alloys.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Good knowledge of workshop tools and processes (guillotines, band saw, rolling, oxyacetylene cutting, etc.)
  • Be a team player with a flexible attitude, and a good eye for detail.
