A leading FMCG Wholesaler and Distributor in the Lancashire region is looking to recruit a Buying Manager to manage the Purchasing and Supply for one of the categories within their BWS business unit, by effectively sourcing and negotiating the optimum costprice with suppliers. This is an exciting and challenging position, and the job holder will continue to be challenged with an evolving role as the business continues grow and diversify.About the RoleThe job-holder will be accountable for developing and bringing to market a profitable category range using their excellent market and product knowledge. With responsibility for ranges across Beers, Wines and Spirits, you will be required to identify andsource new suppliers as well as optimising terms with the current supply base. You will also be required to manage the price files associated with the contracts and to execute in season promotional activity to optimise sales, profit and supplier income.About the PersonWith experience in the Wholesale, Retail or Foodservice sector, you should have a background in sourcing and purchasing FMCG products, but we will also consider non-food experience such as health and beauty or household grocery. You will have a proven trackrecord of negotiating savings, increasing supplier engagement and developing successful and sustainable supplier relationships.
