Job Description

Kilbarchan, RenfrewshireCirca £22,200 per annum Full Time Permanent 37 hours per week ( Nights)Giving children and young people the foundations they need to thrive.The roleLoom Walk is a purpose-built home where we can support up to six children and young people at any one time. When children stay, we can offer them a range of activities and experiences through the facilities we have. This includes sensory stimuli where each bedroom has a sensory element, access to various community leisure pursuits and a garden area offering a variety of stimulating activity. The focus is to provide high quality care and support to children where they have fun within a safe and caring environment.To provide children with disabilities a positive and stimulating short break experience is a vital part of our work. As a Residential Worker, youll be working in our Loom Walk service based in Kilbarchan, Renfrewshire.You will make a difference by:-Supporting children to achieve positive outcomes for their future.-Supporting with medical needs or support during the night if needed for the young person.-Providing a safe environment for them to enjoy time with their friends.-Giving families the break they need to continue supporting their children.-Assisting the children in all aspects of their care and supporting their health and wellbeing.You will need:-Commitment to working on a 24-hour shift rota pattern, which includes evenings, weekends and some bank holidays-Ideally, a HNC and SVQ 3 in a social care discipline, or a qualification in social care, nursing, education, which would meet the registration requirements.-Applications from candidates with only a HNC qualification will be considered as the opportunity to undertake SVQ studies will exist.-Experience of working with disabled young people-The ability to use MS Office to record case notes-Excellent communication skills-Safeguarding knowledge-A positive approach, providing a fun environment for all the children in our care.The way we workWe work to make sure every child and young person has the love, support and opportunity they need to reach their potential.
